The hall fills with sinister, childlike, howling laughter. Sometimes the performers, and sometimes the spectators. I’m not sure who is laughing at who, but it is awkward, uncomfortable and intriguing. La Ribot is in our face, making us really look at what we try to ignore in our everyday thoughts. Sick Mum, No End Guantanamo, Illegal Economy, all stuck on the wall and paraded around whilst we stand at the side and try to avoid contact with these cackling women trying to connect. A 6 hour, gruelling ordeal that many could only sit to watch for a few minutes but visually very exciting with bursts of energy from the young women causing chaos in the newly reopened gallery.
