Had a stroll through Lyme Park, Disley today. I’m not really commenting on the house itself, but the interactive elements of it which are so fun and quite silly. Within the Butler’s quarters you get the chance to adorn Victorian attire chosen by the house for the lavishness of the clothes. Fur, pearls and feather hats, this special experience is not confined to the dressing room but you can actually WALK AROUND THE HOUSE IN THE CLOTHES. Yes, you can fully experience the house dressed like the gentry (or waiting staff) that once roamed the halls. It’s a beautiful and unique experience that I cannot recommend enough. But bustle or not, the tudor roots of the house and its grounds is worth the £9.90, whilst also supporting the very lovely National Trust.
