I’ll be going to explore
Run Wild, Child as part of Dig the City. I am aware that I am not a child, but the thought of an immersive wild and magical adventure around Manchester is too good to miss. Their website advises “come expecting anything, prepared to get muddy and, in particular, wet”…and so I shall! More information on the secret adventure here
I’ll be going to eat
at the newly opened Yard and Coop in NQ. Fried chicken restaurant and a halloumi version for the veggies. Sides look amazing too. Don’t make the same mistake I did and attempt to go on a Monday, Doors open Tuesday to Sunday for chickeny goodness.
I’ll be listening
to Manchester Jazz Festival 31 July – 9 August. I’ll be heading down to Monday’s performances at the Festival Pavilion and Central Library Performance Space for lazy day easy listening vibes.
I’ll be going to see
52 Tuesdays at HOME. A film shot each Tuesday for a year, tells the tale of a parent deciding to transition. An interesting and innovative exploration of continuity within film making. Q&A to follow after the screening.
I’ll be going to walk
around Alexander Park, Moss Side. From some very reliable sources, I’ve heard that there are some turtles floating around in the ornamental lake and I’m determined to find them. Also, some nice little piers surrounding the lake that you can hang your feet from and watch the world go by. Make sure to grab a piece of cake from the pop up Tea Hive.
I’ll be going to drink
At my new favourite haunt, Allotment, for some tasty gins and plant based decor. Try their watering cans for a sweet cocktail treat or sample their extensive gin selection.
