We’re in full blown autumnal weather now. Yes, I’m a little late as it’s now mid month but I’ve been inside, wrapped up in a tartan fleeced blanket & eating soup. However, mulled wine season is officially began and that’s making me feel a bit better. I’m going to spend the rest of my November inside doing these things:
Space Spectacular 14 November @ Bridgewater Hall
if you’re a John Williams fan then you’ll love this, if you don’t know who he is then you’ll definitely know his extensive back catalogue – the man who penned the E.T, Jurassic park, Star Wars theme tracks… Space classics paired with images from the galaxy in the majestic Bridgewater Hall will be a night for any music lover. Tickets are selling out fast!
Manchester Animation Festival 17-19 November @ HOME
I’m Good with Plants, Thomas O’Mearaa
MAF is a fairly new festival, that is filling a gap in the cultural landscape with an animation based programme featuring panels, screenings and workshops with some important artists in the industry. The three day event held within HOME promises to unite animation buffs with those who are just looking for something unique. Tickets are still available when this article was written.
Vesper Time by Stacy Makishi 17 November @ HOME
After watching Makishi-directed Under the Covers by Contact Young Company, I knew I needed to see her one woman show, combining stand up and her fascination with the uncanny. If you’re feeling brave the attend her artist workshop too which promises to push you out of your comfort zone and explore your creative boundaries.
Artist Film Weekender 27-29 November @ HOME
HOME’s first artist weekender kicks off at the end of the month. A selection of screenings surrounding the idea of desire. Be sure to get a drink at the bar, reasonable prices for food too.
And of course the ice rink in Spinningfields is opening, yay for Christmas!
